Recipe Vickys Ruby Poached Pears in Syrup, GF DF EF SF NF : Delicious and Easy For You To Try
Ingredients:
- 4 firm, peeled pears
- 750 ml red grape juice
- 60 grams caster sugar
- 1/4 tsp mixed spice / pumpkin pie spice
- 1 zest of 1/2 an orange
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract or paste
Preparation steps:
Put the grape juice in a small but deep pan with the sugar, mixed spice, vanilla & orange zest and heat gently until the sugar dissolves

Put the pears to the side and keep warm. Bring the juice to a rapid boil until it has reduced by half and turned syrupy
Serve the pears hot or cold with the syrup poured over. I serve vanilla ice cream on the side and hubby likes custard with his. I've linked my free-from recipes for these below
